Certificate of Single Status (Ledigkeitsbescheinigung) from Germany

Get a Certificate of Single Status with an Apostille — Without Travelling to Germany

Do you need an official Certificate of Single Status from Germany (Ledigkeitsbescheinigung) for marriage abroad or for submission to authorities in another country?

We can arrange the document remotely — on the basis of a power of attorney, without the need to travel to Germany, and with the option of obtaining an apostille for use abroad.

What is a Ledigkeitsbescheinigung?

A Ledigkeitsbescheinigung is an official certificate confirming that you are not married at the time it is issued. The document may be required:

  • to get married abroad;
  • for submission to immigration or visa authorities;
  • for notarial procedures or confirmation of marital status in another country.

The certificate may also be issued to former residents of Germany, including foreign nationals.

How the Process Works

Send Us a Photo of Your Passport / Relevant Documents

If the certificate still needs to be obtained, we will need information about the applicant, such as full name, registered address, nationality and other relevant details. The exact requirements depend on the document. Our manager will contact you after the initial assessment and provide individual instructions.

Payment

You can pay with most major bank cards, through available online payment systems depending on your country, or by bank transfer. All available payment methods will be shown when you place your order.

In many cases, official government fees must also be paid. If you are unable to pay these fees directly, for example because of restrictions on transfers to the EU, we can make the payment on your behalf. In this case, a service fee will be added to cover taxes and payment processing costs.

Sign the Applications and Forms

You will need to:

  • print and sign the documents;
  • in some cases, have them certified by a notary or local authority — we will provide detailed instructions.

Send the Original Documents

  • send them by standard post or courier service,
  • or we can arrange for a courier to collect the documents from you.

Our manager will recommend the most suitable delivery option for your location and provide the address for sending the documents.

Processing the Apostille and Certificates

Processing time depends on the specific document and the workload of the relevant authorities.
🕒 On average, processing takes between 1 and 6 weeks.

Delivery of the Completed Documents

  • by standard international post,
  • or by express courier such as DHL, FedEx, UPS or another available service.
